Development of Low Fire-Hazard cables highlighted at Jicable conference
2012-02-23 - Jicable, held every 4 years since 1984, is the major international forum for insulated power cables

Jicable’11 took place in Versailles, France, from 19 to 23 June 2011, and was the largest event ever, with about 750 delegates from 50 countries and nearly 300 high-level scientific reports.

The topics were spanning every aspect from research to manufacturing and testing to installation and operation of insulated cables from low to ultra-high voltages. A whole session was dedicated to the challenging issue of cables behaviour and performance in case of fire.

Europacable presented two papers in this field, intended to underline the development and application of improved low fire-hazard cables and associated fire testing equipment and procedures in the framework of the on-going implementation for electric cables of the European Construction Products Directive.
